Exklusivinterview mit Sonny Siaki

Welcome back Sonny Siaki. How are you doing?
I’m feeling cool, man. I’m ready for tonight.

On the last SWF-Event you wrestled Darksoul. What do you think of the match itself and your opponent.
I thought it was a pretty good match. We had a good chemistry. I mean I never met him before and being in the ring with someone you don’t know, it went pretty well.

What do you think of the show in general. Did you see anything?
I saw a little bit. And what I saw is a lot different from the states. Mainly with the girls coming out and dancing on the poles. The matches are different. The crowd’s different. But I enjoyed watching it.

Do you see any potential here for the company to get bigger?
Definitely.

Did you see anyone who we should have an eye on? Any guy? Maybe Darksoul?
Definitely, man. He has a good look, but I told him a few things he has to work on. Like the “in-between”-stuff, you know. He has good moves, but the stuff in between has to get better. But yes, he has potential. Absolutely.

On our last meeting, I had the impression that you were very sceptical with the whole thing. You know, second floor, few spectators, a bunch of guys in the ring. What’s you feeling now? Still sceptical? Or more satisfied?
You realized that?Good job, man. It’s true. When I first got here, it was like an empty warehouse. Kind of spooky, like a haunted house, you know. I’ve never done anything like that, you know. But all the boys are cool and the guys who run the company as well. So there’s no spooky thing here anymore.

How do you prepare for your match today. And do you know, who your opponent is?
Yes, it’s Joe E. Legend. We worked together some time, so we don’t have to do any special preparation for the match. We know, what we do and the preparation will be very short. But since I know that he’s a big guy, I can’t do stuff that I would do to smaller guys. I have to rely on my speed. But back to your question. It takes me about half an hour to be ready for a match. Stretching, Focussing and stuff. Yes, about 30 minutes.

Are you gonna be a part of the October event?
Yes.

There gonna be a lot of TNAW-Superstars, like Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles or Abyss. And of course Diamond Dallas Page. Who of these guys would you wanna wrestle most in the show?
Since I’m working with most of the guys at TNAW and I worked with DDP at WCW, I don’t know man. But I think I would pick AJ Styles. He’s one of the best talents out there and I would like to wrestle him in October.

Your status in TNAW changed a bit, since our last chat. Can you shortly describe what happened to you? I read that you are not longer the property of anyone?
I’m free and Desire is my valet. I’m gonna be one contender for the NWA World Heavyweight Title and I’m fighting my way up.

Do you think you can make it?
I should, shouldn’t I?

Back to SWF. What do you think they need to make a bigger impression.
Talent, man. You got to have better wrestles, better characters, bigger guys. There’s no success without talen.

Should they keep on inviting international stars or use their own, home-made talent more often?
If they can teach their own talent, it’s great. This business is about having great talent, having good looks and having a special character. Or being a Jeff Hardy kind of wrestler and doing crazy stuff. Or a Kevin Nash kind of guy. You know, a huge man. But a good character is everything. Besides look and talent.

Thank you again, Sonny. It’s always cool to talk to you. All the best for tonights event and see you next time.
Thanks man. “Tschänickbruch.com” - I like that.
